Myrtle / Heath Family Study — Vintage Botanical Plate Framed Print
This classic plate presents a shrub in full habit with detailed inset diagrams of its blossoms, stamens, pistils, fruit, and cross-sections of the seed. The central specimen is flanked by magnified elements that explain reproductive morphology and fruit development. The muted yet vivid palette—soft rose tones, verdant foliage, and scarlet fruit—combined with crisp engraving makes the sheet both an instructive botanical reference and an attractive decorative print.
Ambience & styling: Refined and botanical — suits conservatories, living rooms, kitchens, or study walls with cottagecore, vintage‑scientific, or Mediterranean decor. Works well as a single focal piece or grouped with other historic plates.
Framing & display tips: Portrait orientation. Pair with a warm-wood frame to echo earthy hues or a slim black frame to heighten contrast. Use a narrow off‑white mat for an archival presentation; ideal placement above a console, near a windowed plant display, or in a gallery cluster.
Who it’s for: Botanists, gardeners, collectors of vintage botanical art, educators, and interior designers seeking elegant, nature‑inspired wall art.
Notable features:
Enlarged floral and fruit dissections for easy study
High-contrast hand-colored engraving with decorative appeal
Works for both educational display and home décor
Attributed to Walter Müller for collector interest
A clean white border sits around the image for a gallery-style finish—like a soft mat—so the art feels polished without changing the overall frame size.
