Pine Islands and Wave Crests – Shin Bijutsukai Framed Art Print
This serene plate comes from *Shin Bijutsukai* (新美術海), the Kyoto-based Japanese design periodical edited by Furuya Kōrin and published by Unsōdō in the early 1900s. The design depicts stylized pine trees rising from tortoiseshell-patterned islands, set against a soft mint ground scattered with layered blue and green wave-crest motifs — classical symbols of longevity and good fortune in Japanese decorative art. Soft mint green, warm sand, and deep pine green create a tranquil, refined palette that suits serene, minimalist, or Japonisme-inspired interiors, pairing beautifully with natural wood, tatami textures, and simple lacquered frames. The gentle rhythm of islands and waves makes this piece a calming accent for bedrooms, tea rooms, or contemplative spaces. Presented as a framed art print with detailed reproduction and a polished, gallery-ready finish, this piece brings the timeless symbolism of Japanese decorative art to any wall. Ideal for admirers of Japonisme, traditional motifs, or nature-inspired pattern art, this print transforms classical auspicious imagery into a serene, timeless centerpiece.
